On the road for holiday travels and discussion of books, one of my favorite gifts to give and get, seems appropriate. I’ve been fascinated by books on cleanses and detoxes this year. December’s WELL Explains: Do You Dare Detox offers you a chance to learn more about the subject without the commitment of a library and reading many, many books. It’s free… it’s 45 minutes and there will be a sample plan given to everyone on the call. A little pre- Happy Holiday from WELL to you!

My reading is more in the form of blogs & sites these days (thanks to Mr. Reader + Kindle on my favorite little tool). There’s still something to be said for curling up in your favorite spot on the couch with a paper or hard-bound book. Completely giving my books and magazines over to electronic devices may never happen, but it’s a convenience I’m thankful to have. Below is a list of a few of my favorite health and wellness books, organized as much by category as possible. When it comes to reading this genre, I prefer to keep it educational and a little “light”. I spent far too many years reading very dense academic texts and want a blend of both worlds in my reading for pleasure.

    how about mental health and wellness? “20-Something, 20-Everything: A Quarter-life Woman’s Guide to Balance and Direction.” It’s a little cheesy, but good message. And I like “The Highly Sensitive Person.”
    or how about financial health and wellness? “Get a Financial Life: Personal Finances in Your Twenties and Thirties” and “A Modern Girl’s Guide to Personal Finance.”

    i should move to ca and we could open our own comprehensive private practice. i could cover the mental health wellness, and you could cover the physical health wellness. :)
