Weekend love… No matter how much we love our jobs, we’re all more mentally and physically happy on the weekends. Maybe it’s the lack of alarm clock, the making-your-own schedule or just the break from the routine. We need the weekends to re-charge and be ready for our Monday through Friday. Enjoy your free time for your well-being and create traditions that make the weekend truly yours.
One of my favorite weekend traditions growing up was making pancake breakfasts and reading the Sunday paper. The verbal banter with my brother over who got the comic section first was also part of the weekly affair… not something my parents particularly cared for as they tried to enjoy the more serious parts of the paper. Mr. Reader is my new twist of a favorite Sunday tradition. Below is a sampling of reads to enjoy in the quiet time of your weekend.

Spoon Fork Bacon is one of my favorite food sites. The photos are gorgeous and the occasional treat is welcomed if you eat healthy most of the time. Enjoy a Winter Spiced Old Fashioned while the colder months are still upon us.
Be Nice on the Internet Week. A delightful call for civility online.
I love bicycles! Riding my bicycle for short errands or on the weekend (freedom!) is such a delight. Gala Darling has created a comprehensive guide for being a lady and a total babe whilst riding your bicycle.
An excellent reminder that all we do in life can lead to forming good or bad habits. Leo is one of my favorite writers. Read his post on creating conscious, positive practices here.
The joy of quiet. An excellent short essay in slowing down and easing the pace of life for awhile. Maybe even dive into a good fiction book to switch things up and expand your way of thinking.
What I’m going to practice making for my fiancé’s 30th birthday. Chocolate pie with lavender from Sunday Suppers.
We’re giving our apartment a makeover. What better place to get inspiration than Apartment Therapy. Other than my quick jaunts out in search of these West Elm inspired colors.
Wishing each of you a lovely, long weekend. I’d love to know: What are your weekend traditions? And what are your favorite sites to catch up with on the weekend?
