Palm Springs Escape

RivieraPalmSprings

As a writer, designer and solopreneur (read: small business run by moi) escapes are necessary to seek inspiration, connection and to give my brain a break. It’s even better when you can pow-wow with like-minded girlfriends also working the angle to have a life on their terms. After weeks of planning, the ladies of Itty Bitty Party Committee pulled together an incredible weekend in Palm Springs (hire these girls! I love ‘em). Everyone contributed a slice of their talents to make a perfect weekend through cooking delicious meals and photography (see Christina Dely’s photo recap here; photos #3 & #5 in this set are courtesy Love Janet Photo) to the more business-based mini-workshops (on topics of SEO & goal-setting).

My contribution? Hopping on Twitter and connecting with the incredible staff at a hotel I had been dying to experience. Saguaro Palm Springs (check them out on Travel Advisor and Yelp!). The hotel and the staff exceeded my expectations. The colors were vibrant, the architecture paid homage to the surroundings and the pops of color made it impossible to not smile. The pool atmosphere exemplified the hotel’s feel with a live DJ and playful drinks. And the food! – oh the food! at El Jefe (head chef Jose Garces is the winner of the Food Network’s Iron Chef America and a James Beard award-winning chef) was hands down the best salsa I’ve ever tasted and their tacos were surprising gourmet bombshells.

Many thanks also to the swanky Riviera Palm Springs for hosting us on Friday, providing libations of every kind. And from what I’m told, no trip to Palm Springs is complete without brunch at Cheeky’s, our final stop before heading out of town. Enjoy the photos and if you live in L.A. get outta town every once in awhile… and to the desert if you can!

It was such a fun and educational weekend (yes, we’re a bunch of nerds!). We were hoping none of our social media friends were getting too annoyed with all the posts, but it was hard to stay contained when enjoying a place so much!
