Out of the Gym

Paddle Boarding Los Angeles

I’m cheating on the gym. Skipping out on the sweat-fest cardio classes, the guys grunting in the weight area, the traffic, travel and hassle of getting there. I’ve been opting for bike rides that end in yoga in the grass. Finding stairs at every turn, taking a spin on the water and getting my down savasana fix with my toes in the ocean. It’s a rough life being a California girl!

Some people are just so lazy at the gym…

It feels strange NOT going to the gym 4 or 5 days a week. I taught for 6+ years before going into *ahem* “semi-retirement” (I sub classes at a few times a month). Finding more options to be outside and soak in fresh air and sunshine sounds like a fair trade to me. Speaking of … you should check out my friend Angela’s classes next week if you want a taste of oceanside fitness. I’ll see you there on Wednesday (if you dare!). I’m also looking forward to NamasDay and the return of SUP + yoga in October! Ummm… AND MEXICO vacation! where I will carve out time to paddle around the bay and play in the ocean.

So…Gym or Outdoors?

I much prefer outdoor activity as well!!! But I guess as long as you get moving it doesn’t really matter. Thanks for always inspiring me to stay active and healthy:)
    Have a beautiful weekend!

True! As long as your happy and finding ways to squeeze in your workout. I went from cross-country running in high school to becoming a cardio freak from 18-27… the breather away from the gym is a welcome treat!

  2. Outdoors! Always, always, always. I’ve realized (as of late) that I enjoy activities, not working out. I figure that if those who live the longest have daily activities that keep them strong and healthy, then I should, too. …plus it’s better for my tan.
