This week marks the official start to my favorite season: SUMMER! My favorite foods – fruits and veggies – taste incredible and can you ever really get tired of sunshine and blue skies dotted with clouds? Flowers and green everywhere? It’s also a summer with a busy agenda and lots of travel. Which of course, is fun, but also a reminder to make wellness a priority so that we can-do-all-that-we-do and live this life to its fullest.
I’ve made green smoothies my breakfast routine for a few years now and I’ve learned how to make them the healthiest I could (it’s taken a lot of time to make daily greens a habit – hang in there if you’re just starting out!). Reading Kris Carr’s CrazySexyDiet earlier this year led me to switch up my diet and start to add more green juices to my daily diet. Best decision ever! Wanna know why?
People often report that when they change their diet to include plenty of live juices, their body undergoes a transformation similar to a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. They start feeling better, lighter, and more energized as time goes on. Sleep improves. Energy kicks up a notch, and mood improves. The mind becomes more alert and creative, while disorganizing brain fog fades away because all the nutrients in fresh juice help the mind and body revive. In the process, overall health improves. Ailments and chronic diseases begin to heal for many people. Then, a person’s whole life changes because they have the energy to accomplish their goals.
Sounds pretty amazing right? A few photos below (and the photo above) from my favorite little vegan juice shop on Venice Beach. Scroll ALL the way to the bottom to read my challenge to you this week.
If you love someone, you want them to be healthy right? My challenge to you is to show the VIPs in your life – including you – how much you love them. If you make green juice routinely, make an extra batch with easy greens, like cucumbers, spinach, apples and such and share it with someone you love. Bonus points – post your pictures on Twitter or Facebook! Pay it forward, pass it on and enjoy sharing the greens in your life this week.
