How do you celebrate the transition into a new season? Would you like to celebrate with a twist? Maybe an inversion? Or how about a few push-ups? My new friend and yoga instructor Erin Grossman (also an Integrative Nutrition peep!) came up with this yoga sequence after I approached her about creating a flow to welcome the fall season. She graciously agreed to create the sequence AND to be my model! Please pass it along, especially if you’re a fellow yoga-lover (there are 20 million of us in the U.S.! – I know you’re out there!). Pin it, keep it on your phone & workout up a little sweat or simply use it as a reminder to enjoy savasana and quiet time! You can download a larger version, as well. Below is the written explanation of the flow Erin created exclusively for WELL in L.A. readers:
1. Balasana // Child’s Pose
2. Adho Mukha Svanasana // Downward Dog
3. Three-legged Down Dog
4. High Lunge
5. Crescent Pose
6. Plank to Chaturanga // Four Limbed Staff Pose
7. Salabhasana // Locust Post
8. Dhanurasana // Bow Pose
9. Vasisthasana // Side Arm Balance
10. Paschimottanasana // Forward Fold
11. Marichyasana // Seated Twist
12. Savasana // Corpose or Final Resting Pose
P.S. Like Erin’s top? It’s this very cool hooded tank from Lorna Jane. The store is fast-becoming my happy place in L.A.! Cannot wait to share my next Move. Nourish. Believe. article with you next week. PLUS there’s a video to go with this post – next week – next week!
