Is it absolutely crazy or cliché to want to take a road trip before turning 30? I’m already planning a wedding and a two week trip to Thailand next year… with the possibilities of a week-long Mammoth ski trip, spring New York Fashion Week and going to the national rodeo in Texas on the table, too.
CRAZY? YES. CLICHÉ? PROBABLY.
I’ve been harboring my lust for a PCH roadtrip for 9 years. I spent an entire summer in an intense anatomy and physiology course – 5 days a week for 8 weeks with no breaks – NOT the way to spend your summer as a college student! The reward for finishing (with an ‘A’ I might add!): a trip to San Francisco. The mini-vacation solidified my love of the west coast and whetted my appetite to see more.
CLICHÉS… EAT YOUR HEART OUT!
I started a Pinterest board to remind myself of suggestions I’m receiving from people (all the images from this post are sourced from the board). I cannot do this alone and it’s going to take planning and collaboration. It also takes MANIFESTATION. Ahem - letting the universe know exactly what you want so it can conspire to help you. A mish-mash of Paulo Coelho, Danielle LaPorte and Gabrielle Bernstein has lodged itself into the frontal lobe and there’s no way out.
ADVENTUROUS? ONLY WITH A PLAN…
The plan – in its early stages – is to fly to Seattle and work my way home by way of the PCH. Where I’ll stay and what I’ll see – I need your help! If you have any suggestions, tips, inside information, connections – I’m listening and grateful! What should I see/do? Where should I stay? I want to share how to put together a dream trip to celebrate a milestone in your life. Let’s have an adventure!!
Umm – and bring on 2013. Bring on 30. BRING ON LIFE!!

My inspiration :)
Oh you lucky duck! I’ve only done the CA stretch which is still spectacular – I definitely have some opinions on where you should swing by en route south. Let’s discuss! Adventure!
Ohhh!! I cannot wait to get your take on it all!
What an adventure you’re going to have!! And I will be living vicariously through you. Enjoy every second! And if I hear any tips, I will be sure to tell you! xoxo
Life … adventures… bring ‘em on! I might need an apple pie while on the road, Dawn!
I just might need to come meet up with you in portland!! There are so many amazing restaurants I’ve heard of there, and cool old pirate bars! Plus I’ve heard that no one there has a “real” job, which sounds just up our alley :)
xoxo
Wow! You go Erin. :) I love the NW. I want to move back more than I want to admit sometimes. :)
One must do the PCH drive at lease once!
Can I come…hehe!
I just took a mini trip up the coast over Labor Day weekend from LA to San Fran! I loved watching the seals sunbathe near San Simeon. And I just have to say, the drive along the staggering cliffs above the ocean on Highway 1 between there and Monterey had some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen.

As for Thailand, check out my FB pics. I went last September and had an amazing time. Email me if you want any reccomendations!
